Story so far

Seamus Power is tied for the lead through three rounds of the Bermuda Championship at Port Royal, Southampton, Bermuda, and the Irishman is a best-price 6-4 for victory.

Power, third in the ante-post betting at 22-1, fired a superb third-round 65 in the tough Saturday conditions to reach 18 under par through 54 holes. A fourth consecutive round of 65 on Sunday would almost certainly be enough for Power's second PGA Tour victory.

The 35-year-old won the Barbasol Championship in July last year, defeating JT Poston in a playoff. The Las-Vegas-based pro made eight Saturday birdies to take charge of the Bermuda Championship.

Ben Griffin, a pre-tournament 100-1 chance, is joint-leader. The 25-year-old Korn Ferry Tour graduate finished fourth in the Wyndham Championship in August.

Final-round preview

Ben Griffin quit golf at the end of March last year, explaining that he was no longer prepared to rely on his parents to help him continue his professional career, and he took up a desk job. Pro golf was not a viable financial option.

Some generous backers convinced Griffin to give it another go on the Korn Ferry Tour at the start of last year - his first event back was in The Bahamas - and nine months later he shares the lead in a PGA Tour event with 18 holes to go.

A Griffin victory would be fairytale stuff given that back-story - and he was choking up in his post-round interview on Saturday. Seamus Power seems much more likely to hold himself together in the final twoball of the Bermuda Championship.

Power's comfort in a breeze and his experience of a recent PGA Tour triumph has counted for plenty this week. A trio of 65s have shown how at ease he is at Port Royal and he can be expected to convert his position into the trophy.

Kevin Yu has got talent, while Aaron Baddeley does not seem a million miles from the form which made him a four-time PGA Tour champion, but the solidity of Power means a two-shot buffer on both Yu and Baddeley will probably be enough for him to get the job done.

Hopefully, Racing Post Sport pre-tournament selections Robby Shelton and Harrison Endycott can run into the places from their current share of 13th, but a seven-shot deficit on Power has almost certainly ended their victory hopes. Taking the 6-4 Power is the recommended Sunday investment.

If those odds are too short for some punters, perhaps multiples with the other two tournaments which finish on Sunday may appeal. Gavin Green appears to have an outstanding chance of toppling Jordan Smith in the Portugal Masters, while 4 Aces can edge Smash in the LIV Golf Team Championship.

A Power, Green, 4 Aces treble pays around 17-1. The final twoball of Power and Griffin is scheduled on the tee at 4.20pm UK and Ireland time. A warm and windy day is forecast.
