Sam Burns heads to Sanderson Farms after USA Presidents Cup glory

The United States secured Presidents Cup glory for the ninth consecutive time with a 17.5-12.5 victory over the Internationals at Quail Hollow, Charlotte, North Carolina.

The States, pre-tournament 1-7 chances, were 8-2 up after the first two days of action, then turned an 11-7 final-day advantage into a five-point success.

Si Woo Kim and Sebastian Munoz took the scalps of Justin Thomas and Scottie Scheffler in early singles matches to keep the home crowd waiting for the moment of triumph, but Xander Schauffele then delivered the decisive point when edging Corey Conners.

Jordan Spieth, a Racing Post Sport 14-1 recommendation, ended the competition as top points scorer. Spieth played in five matches and won all of them, matching the clean sweep that Dustin Johnson managed in last year's Ryder Cup.

Thomas and Max Homa (four points) secured full each-way payouts in the top points scorer market, while there was a large tie for fourth place (Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau, Schauffele and Si Woo Kim).

Spieth, Thomas and Homa filled the first three places in the top American market, while Si Woo Kim, who won three points from four matches, was the top International scorer. Munoz and Sungjae Im got place returns.

Guido Migliozzi was the 80-1 winner of the French Open. The Italian stallion is set to be a part of a high-class Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland this week. Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Billy Horschel and Shane Lowry are all teeing up.

The PGA Tour resumes with the Sanderson Farms Championship. Sam Burns, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Munoz, who were all competing in the Presidents Cup last week, have headed to Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms.
