Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele got back to winning ways on Sunday, posting a 29-under-par 72-hole total for a two-shot Zurich Classic of New Orleans victory at TPC Louisiana.

The Californian duo, 17-2 ante-post, took a five-shot lead into the final round and were general 1-7 favourites to convert that advantage into the silverware. It was not plain sailing, with Sam Burns and Billy Horschel getting to within a shot of the leaders after a birdie at the 11th hole, but Burns drove into water at the 16th hole and fluffed a chip at the 17th hole to take all the pressure off Cantlay and Schauffele.

Cantlay, who has twice lost PGA Tour playoffs this year, lifted his first trophy of 2022, while Schauffele ended a drought which stretched back to January, 2019. Both men will expect to feature strongly in the forthcoming Stateside Majors - the US PGA and the US Open.

Earlier in the day, Pablo Larrazabal was the 28-1 winner of the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain - the Barcelona man enjoying a first DP World Tour title in his homeland. Larrazabal trailed for most of the tournament, but conjured a final-round 62, carding nine Sunday birdies to edge his compatriot Adrian Otaegui by a shot.

This week the DP World Tour stages another new event in Spain - the Catalunya Championship. Larrazabal is set to join Bernd Wiesberger and the Hojgaard brothers in the field.

The PGA Tour moves to Mexico for the Mexico Open at Vidanta. The PGA Tour Latinoamerica event has been upgraded to PGA Tour status for the first time, with Jon Rahm the headline act. The world number two will start as clear favourite.
