Course overview

Le Golf National, where Europe claimed a Ryder Cup triumph in 2018, has hosted this tournament for all but two years since 1991, but it is undergoing renovation work so this year's Open de France moves across Paris to Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Breteche, which last hosted it when Seve Ballesteros was the champion in 1982.

While an unfamiliar test for this generation of players, it did stage the Trophee Lancome, which was a regular European Tour event between 1970 and 2003.

The course contains tree-lined fairways but they are wide enough to ensure a decent margin for error off the tee. Deep bunkers are a prominent characteristic and the sloping greens should also provide plenty of food for thought on a course that was designed by Fred Hawtree in 1959.
