The teams for next week's Ryder Cup have been finalised - with European skipper Padraig Harrington announcing his three wildcard picks after the BMW PGA Championship - but it remains to be seen whether Brooks Koepka is fit enough to take his place in the American line-up.

Koepka, who withdrew from the Tour Championship at the start of this month with a wrist injury, is trying to recover in time to face Europe at Whistling Straits. If the Floridian fails, Steve Stricker will have to name another wildcard, with BMW PGA champion Billy Horschel a leading contender for the role.

Horschel birdied his final hole of the BMW PGA to bravely claim a one-shot triumph in the European Tour's flagship event, securing a 28-1 winner for his ante-post backers. A Ryder Cup debut could be on the cards if Koepka withdraws, with Patrick Reed's social-media reaction to being left out casting a further cloud over him.

The European side is set in stone barring late injury or illness. Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry and Ian Poulter got the nod from Harrington as picks after Bernd Wiesberger earned an automatic place on the team.

This week sees two low-key events - the Dutch Open on the European Tour and the Fortinet Championship in California on the PGA Tour.

Branden Grace and Thomas Pieters are among the Dutch Open entries, while Jon Rahm headlines the Fortinet Championship. Phil Mickelson, Hideki Matsuyama and Webb Simpson are also on the West Coast for a tournament formerly known as the Safeway Open.

The USA are 8-15 favourites for the Ryder Cup, with Europe best at 2-1 and the tie at 12-1. Rahm is 7-2 favourite with bet365 for top European scorer. Lowry at 10-1 is the shortest price of the three wildcards.
