1 Tyrone have found forwards
A lack of quality up front was the stick that the pundits have been beating Tyrone with over the last few months but they are starting to eat their words after Mickey Harte's men scored 1-21 on the way to an impressive nine-point win.

Twelve different Tyrone players got on the scoresheet and Niall Sludden was the star of the show with four points from play. Tyrone are now no bigger than 6-1 to go all the way and there might still be a bit of juice in that price.

2 Goals are scarce in the hurling championship
Galway were unable to find the net against Offaly, scoring 0-33 on the way to an unsurprisingly big win, and neither were Cork despite outclassing Waterford in their Munster semi-final.

The weekend before Wexford were able to dispose of Kilkenny despite finding the net just once. It seems that big points tallies are more in fashion that being gluttons for goals. That could be something to bear in mind as the hurling championship gallops into the final couple of furlongs.

3 Waterford need a new system
Waterford were outthought, outfought and outplayed by Cork in last Sunday's Munster semi-final and they need to find a new system to get the best out of Austin Gleeson, Maurice Shanahan and Shane Bennett.

That talented trio are much better than they showed last Sunday and Derek McGrath need to find a game of getting them on the ball at vital stages of games. There is a lot of work to be done in the Deise if they are to develop into All-Ireland contenders.

4 Kildare have come a long way in a very short space of time
It was men against boys in O'Connor Park last Saturday as Kildare destroyed Meath to book a date with Dublin or Westmeath in the Leinster final.

Given the wretched games that Kildare were involved in during last year's Leinster championship - scoring only 0-9 against Wexford and losing out to Westmeath - they have developed quickly under Cian O'Neill.

He has found a system that works and unearthed some quality up front. Dublin can't afford to be too confident if the sides meet in the provincial.

5 Derry could make Mayo sweat
Mayo are hurting once again after bowing out of the Connacht championship at the hands of arch rivals Galway and they have been dealt a tough hand in the qualifiers having been drawn against Derry.

The Oak Leafers have a decent back-door record and there were lots of positives to be taken out of their 1-17 to 0-13 win over Waterford at Fraher Field. A massive upset can't be totally ruled out in that qualifier clash.
