Cork v Kerry
Pairc Ui Chaoimh, RTE2, 7pm Saturday

They are not as dominate as Dublin are in Leinster but Kerry are surely still at least seven points better than Cork despite the Rebels' resurgence against Limerick.

It might be foolish to read too much into what happened against Limerick. The Treaty County bumped into a Tipperary side who had come to the end of the road with their manager Liam Kearns.

We saw in the qualifiers afterwards just how poor they are this year and bookmakers have gone over the top about Cork's wide-margin win over Limerick. That game was over after the first quarter thanks to three early goals.

Cork obviously have home advantage but that does not count for a lot these days and Kerry look terrific value in the handicap market.
If David Clifford, Paul Geaney, Sean O'Shea and James O'Donoghue can click, Kerry have the potential to reach an All-Ireland final. Cork, in contrast, still have to prove they are among the top ten teams.

Another provincial title for Kerry looks in store and it could be every bit as comfortable as the last few.

Recommendation
Kerry -6
3pts Evs general

Monaghan v Armagh
Clones, 7pm Saturday

On a line of form through Cavan, there is no way Monaghan should be so short for this Ulster showdown in the qualifiers and Armagh look terrific value at 2-1 to cause an upset.

Kieran McGeeney's men should have beaten Cavan in the drawn encounter and missed a few glorious goal opportunities in the early stages of the replay.

With Rian O'Neill, Jamie Clarke and Stefan Campbell up front, Armagh have now a better set of forwards that Monaghan and they have every chance of prolonging their summer.

Monaghan look jaded and are struggling to overcome sides they would have brushed aside with the minimum of fuss a few years ago. They look stale and have not got enough out of the likes of Jack McCarron this year.

Armagh are the younger, more vibrant side, with more to offer and can cause an upset.

Recommendation
Armagh

Antrim v Kildare
Corrigan Park, 3pm Saturday

Kildare could be the big casualties from this round of qualifiers as the Lilywhites have to travel to Corrigan Park and that has banana skin written all over it.

Antrim destroyed Louth in their own backyard in the last round and their confidence will be sky high as they prepare for a home clash against a side who received a battering by Dublin.

It would be foolish to underrate Antrim's win over Louth as they fell behind early and Louth traded at 1-20 at one stage in-play. There seems to be a good team spirit and they can certainly keep within a generous seven-point handicap.

Recommendation
Antrim +7
4pts 10-11 general

Derry v Laois
Owenbeg, 5pm Saturday

Derry do not deserve to be so short despite having home advantage against Laois.

Laois gained promotion from Division 3 this year, whereas Derry won Division 4. The O'Moore County were operating at a higher level and that is not reflected in the betting.

Laois have outclassed Westmeath already in Leinster this year and the final scoreline against Meath was an unfair reflection of the difference between the sides. The concession of goals cost them dearly.

Derry are on the way back but they have not done enough to warrant long odds-on quotes against a team who have achieved more than them this year.

Recommendation
Laois
