Kerry can end Dublin's winning run

Dublin have looked a team to take on away from Croke Park all spring and now could be the time to oppose the All-Ireland champions as they visit Austin Park to face a Kerry side who will be roaring for revenge following almost a decade of heartache at the hand of the Dubs.

Dublin are bidding to equal the unbeaten record of the Kerry side who won four successive All-Ireland titles from 1929 and 1932 and the Kingdom would dearly love to stop their arch rivals from creating history.

The All-Ireland champions have not been flawless in recent weeks, having stumbled to draws with Tyrone and Donegal. That said, they were awesome in round four when they dished out a 1-16 to 0-7 mauling to old foes Mayo.

New faces have emerged over the last few weeks with Conor McHugh the pick of the bunch. The Na Fianna clubman has grabbed his chance with both hands and kicked 1-3 against Mayo in the last round.

Dublin have netted only two goals in their four outings to date and have not scored more than one goal in any game.

Although Kerry have won only two of their opening four games in Division 1, their attacking unit is in perfect working order and they have averaged 17.75 points per game.

Ace attacker James O'Donoghue is getting back to his best and has scored a total of 0-7 in his last two outings against Roscommon and Monaghan. He could be ready to cut loose for Kerry's biggest game of the campaign.

The Kingdom have conceded four goals in their four games and Eamon Fitzmaurice will surely be keen to tighten up his defence when the Dubs visit.

There is no denying that Dublin have a physiological advantage over Kerry in recent years and their smash-and-grab raid in the 2011 All-Ireland final has obviously scarred the Kingdom.

But Kerry have home advantage in Tralee and need to win to ease their relegation worries and improve their prospects of reaching the decider. They have a bigger panel than ever before to select from and look a value bet.
