Cork value to spring a surprise

Tipperary have already qualified for the knockout stages of Division 1 so it would come as no surprise to see them take their foot off the throttle on Sunday and Cork should be supported to cause a shock at Pairc Ui Rinn.

The layers do not seem to have factored into the prices that Cork have much more to play for. If this was the first round of the Munster championship Tipperary would be strongly fancied to inflict a heavy defeat on the Rebels, but there could be a bit of shadow boxing going on and Cork are fresh from a wide-margin win over Waterford last weekend.

Conor Lehane was excellent in the win over Waterford, scoring eight points, and there is no lack of quality in the Cork attack with Seamus Harnedy, Adam Cadogan and Patrick Horgan all top-class forwards. This is the perfect time for the Rebels to showcase their talents against the best in the business.

Cork are available at 13-5 to win by two points or more and that looks a great price.

Perhaps the standout showdown is between Limerick and Galway, both of whom have been beaten by Wexford and cannot gain promotion unless the Model County slip up.

The Tribesmen are more reliable and have looked very good at various stages of the campaign. Limerick just cannot be trusted and backing Galway to defy a two-point handicap appeals most.

Antrim have been struggling of late and Westmeath might be a spot of value in their Division 2A clash at Cushendall.

Recommendations

2pts 13-5 Paddy Power
Galway -2
