Allianz Hurling League predictions
Waterford vs Tipperary
2pm Sunday, TG4 Player
Waterford put in a dreadful display against Galway last time and desperately need a strong performance at home at Tipperary or they’ll find themselves relegated.
They have shown glimmers of promise throughout the campaign, most notably when beating Limerick, and they put in an encouraging display away to Kilkenny.
When Calum Lyons, Jamie Barron, Dessie Hutchinson and Stephen Bennet are on song, they are a match for anyone but they struggle for consistency.
That said, they do have a tendency to put up defiant performances when their backs are up against the wall and they should be well up for this crunch home game.
With Ronan Maher and Robert Doyle back, Tipperary are approaching full strength but they suffered a bruising defeat to Limerick and there’s a kick in this Waterford team. It should come today.
