There were 16 points between Dublin and Meath when these two sides met in last year's Leinster final with Andy McEntee's men only managing a measly four points in over 70 minutes of football.

With that in mind, it's tempting to back Dublin giving up a ten-point handicap. After all, they thumped Laois by 22 points just last Sunday and conceded only 0-7 in the process.

But the advice is to get on Meath with a ten-point start at odds-against as this is an entirely different team from the one who performed so poorly in last year's provincial decided. Indeed, it is barely recognisable.

Ronan Jones is a massive addition to the midfield battlezone and his presence alongside joint-captain Bryan Menton will ensure Meath will win their fair share of possession around the middle third of the pitch. They were devoured in that department last year.

Jordan Morris has exploded onto the scene and sprinkled some much-needed stardust into the Royals attack. He scored 3-4 against Wicklow a fortnight ago and took his goal against Kildare last Sunday brilliantly too.

Shane Walsh has developed into a terrific target man, while Cillian O'Sullivan is playing the best football of his career right now.

Meath have scored 12 goals in their two Leinster championship outings this year, yet you can get some odds against about both teams finding the net.

Dublin scored two goals in their win over Laois. Had they been more clinical they could have scored seven or eight. They opened up the Laois defence at their leisure and they could carve up plenty of goal scoring chances here too.

Cork v Tipperary

There is no denying that Cork's shock success over Kerry was floodlit robbery, but what impressed most in that extra-time victory was their defensive structure.

Kerry have an endless supply of attacking talent, but David Clifford and Co found it very hard to open up the Cork defence. They huffed and they puffed but they could never blow the house down.

Conditions were dreadful, but Kerry only scored 13 points in over 90 minutes. It had a lot to do with the weather, but it had even more to do with Cork's work-rate and rearguard unit.

They have a solid platform at the back and, if Kerry struggled to break it down, surely Tipperary will too.

Tipperary needed extra-time to dispose of a poor Limerick side and scored only 1-15 for the duration of the 90 minutes. Conor Sweney was the star of the show, scoring seven points including an audacious sideline, but if you can keep him quiet you are halfway to beating Tipp.

This is a game Cork ought to win comfortably, but don't expect them to deviate too much from the plan that served them so well against Kerry. That makes odds of 4-6 about Tipp scoring 15 points or fewer so attractive.

Cavan v Donegal

Donegal have proved themselves to be by far the best team in Ulster and bookmakers believe they are the biggest dangers to Dublin.

They might well be, but the total points spreads for the Ulster final look much too high, especially with the chance of showers on Sunday evening. Most of the game will be under floodlights too.

Donegal scored 1-22 against Armagh, but Cavan will not be so naive and Mickey Graham is sure to deploy a sweeper to stop an early supply line into the Donegal full-forward.

Monaghan managed to score only 1-17 against Cavan in 90 minutes, while their average concession in their last two games has been 12.5 points.

Donegal's class ought to shine through in the second half, but asking them to score 23 points is a bit much in the latter stages of November.

The total points spread for the match looks big too so the advice is to back under 36.5 points.
