Formidable spine gives Poland plenty of hope
Manager Adam Nawalka
Poland were many pundits' choice as dark horses to follow at the European Championship and they performed well, reaching the quarter-finals before an exit on penalties to eventual champions Portugal.
Adam Nawalka's nicely balanced outfit responded well to that disappointment to qualify easily with the only blip coming in a 4-0 hammering in Denmark which was out of keeping with the majority of their performances over the last few years.
Robert Lewandowski was the top goalscorer in European qualifying with 16 goals and the Bayern Munich hitman is part of a formidable spine that suggests they could once again outperform their odds.
Lewandowski is a guaranteed goalscorer, the passing range of Piotr Zielinski works well with midfield anchor Grzegorz Krychowiak and most of Europe's big clubs are tracking Sampdoria's Karol Linetty, while Kamil Glik is a defensive warrior.
