Betting preview

Cash-strapped Reading have shrugged aside their off-field problems by winning five of their last six Championship matches and they should pick up another three points at home to injury-hit Blackpool.

The Royals have been operating under a transfer embargo and their small squad was stretched to its limit by an early-season injury crisis which contributed to their slow start.

There were times when Reading manager Veljko Paunovic had to select from a squad entirely devoid of central defenders but the situation has improved with free transfer Scott Dann getting up to speed and captain Liam Moore recovering from injury.

Dann and Moore were rock-solid in Saturday's 1-0 success at home to Barnsley and they can lay the foundation for victory over the Seasiders.

Staying up is the aim for Blackpool, who ended the weekend in 15th position – seven points above the drop zone – despite Saturday's 2-1 loss at Nottingham Forest.

However, Tangerines' boss Neil Critchley is hampered by the absences of several injured players, including five-goal top scorer Shayne Lavery, and his patched-up side may suffer a second defeat in five days.

Goals could be thin on the ground when relegation rivals Hull and Peterborough lock horns at the MKM Stadium.

Hull have mustered just eight goals in 12 league games and half of those came in a 4-1 success at Preston on the opening weekend of the season.

Lowly Peterborough have also looked toothless without strikers Jonson Clarke-Harris (suspended) and Jack Marriott (hamstring), and the lack of offensive quality on both sides could contribute to a low-scoring outcome with under 2.5 goals looking decent value at a shade of odds-on.
