Krylya Sovetov have collected four points from two matches since returning from the Russian top flight's winter break and they can extend their mini-revival with an away victory Tambov.

Krylya spent the winter months in the bottom two and their survival prospects appeared to take a hit during the transfer window when their top scorer – ten-goal striker Aleksandr Sobolev – was loaned to Spartak Moscow.

Prior to his departure, Sobolev had scored ten of Krylya's 20 league goals.

However, they seem to be coping reasonably well thanks to the immediate impact of January signing Denis Popovic, who netted in last month's 1-1 draw at home to Orenburg and their 1-0 success away to Rubin Kazan last week.

Popovic is an attacking midfield player, so he cannot be considered as a like-for-like replacement for Sobelov.

But the Slovenian international showed his scoring instincts for Orenburg in the 2017-18 Russian second-tier campaign, bagging ten goals to help them win promotion, and his quality could be key to keeping Krylya in the top flight.

Overall their squad may be slightly weaker than it was in December, but that is also the case for Tambov, who allowed key defender Maksim Osipenko to transfer to highflying Rostov.

Without Osipenko there will be a greater reliance on Tambov's forward players to win matches for them.

But Sergei Pervushin's side have failed to score in their last two games, drawing 0-0 at home to Rubin Kazan and losing 1-0 at Dinamo Moscow, and another toothless performance could be in the offing against Krylya, who may be decent value with the draw no bet.
