St Patrick's Athletic can shade lively derby with Shamrock Rovers
Finn Harps set to make it tough for Drogheda United
Premier Division and Division One matches
With nothing to play for in any of Friday's late-season League of Ireland Premier Division games, it may be worth backing a couple of outsiders.
The most appetising betting match sees St Patrick's Athletic host Shamrock Rovers, who are already qualified for Europe but who will nevertheless be keen to finish third.
Saints are under the interim stewardship of Ger O'Brien and impressed when holding Dundalk to a 1-1 draw last Friday. This is always a pretty lively derby game and not the easiest to price up.
Rovers have been on an excellent run but Lee Desmond's role as a holding midfielder will boost the hosts in that regard and they have enough about them to win this game. Their odds seem a big long in a game that is likely to be fairly close.
Cork City ought to have no issue beating Limerick but they are hardly solid 2-7 chances given that the game means nothing.
Champions Dundalk have to put their celebrations on hold to visit Waterford United, who are certain of Europa League combat next season.
Waterford have been competitive against Dundalk before and they are worth a small bet at 2-1 as they could expose the visitors' less than perfect preparations.
Drogheda United are low on fit bodies after a bruising victory over Shelbourne in the First Division playoffs during which captain Jake Hyland broke his leg. They will find it tough to beat Finn Harps, who have finished the season in outstanding form and are relatively fresh coming into this clash by the Boyne.
