It's the biggest game of the Super League season with first at home to second and there’s enough firepower in the SIPG ranks to suggest they can land the points and move further clear of the reigning champions.

Shanghai Stadium will be rocking for this rearranged tussle between the two sides who topped last season’s rankings.

Back then it was SIPG who would go on to finish runners-up for the second time in three years while Evergrande went on to claim a seventh straight title.

This is SIPG’s chance and they boast the tools in attack to pull it off.

Vitor Pereira’s men haven’t failed to score at home in the last 13 months and warmed up for this evening’s showdown with a stunning 5-2 win at Tianjin on Friday night.

Each member of their fearsome front four – Wu Lei, Oscar, Hulk and Elkeson – were on the scoresheet that night, the Chinese striker taking his tally to 20 for the season.

That’s 16 points out of a possible 18 for SIPG though Evergrande’s form is every bit as hot – they have won nine of their last ten.

Their resurgence has undeniably coincided with the arrivals of Paulinho from Barcelona and Talisca from Besiktas, the latter having banged in 12 in ten since moving to China.

They leapfrogged Beijing Guoan into second with a hard-fought 1-0 win on Friday but this is another serious test and the hosts look the bet in a heat where the layers are struggling to separate them.
