Shrewsbury’s big day out at Wembley in the EFL Trophy final ended in disappointment but the Salop can respond in the perfect way with victory at deflated Bradford.

Lincoln City upset the odds to taste Wembley success but the Shrews have bigger fish to fry with automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One still up for grabs.

Paul Hurst’s men are locked in a three-way brawl with Wigan and Blackburn but trail the pair by five points and only victory at Valley Parade will suffice.

The Shropshire outfit are clearly overachieving to mix it with those two heavyweights but can still deliver the goods at Bradford, who have won just one of their last 13 league encounters.

The Bantams have slipped out of playoff contention as a result, winning only one of their seven games under Simon Grayson, and look short on confidence following a 5-0 thumping at Blackpool on Saturday.

Bradford v Shrewsbury

Bradford boast the third worst home form in the division and lack attacking intent, with leading scorer Charlie Wyke having notched just twice since the turn of the year.

The hosts have failed to score in five of their last six matches and could struggle to break down the defensively-minded Shrews.

Only leaders Wigan have conceded fewer times than the visitors this term and they look best prepared for the battle.
