Frank de Boer is under huge pressure in the Crystal Palace dugout and is just 13-8 with Ladbrokes to leave his post after Sunday’s Premier League clash at Burnley.

The Dutchman has been trying to implement a more possession-based style of football but has presided over three consecutive defeats, leaving his team second from bottom.

Getting a positive result at Burnley looks crucial if he is to gain a bit more breathing space.

However, De Boer’s longer term future looks bleak with Ladbrokes offering 6-4 that he remains in the job beyond Christmas and 3-1 that he is still at the club at the end of the season.

He is the 4-7 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go while West Ham’s Slaven Bilic is a 5-2 chance.

Bilic’s future is also under the microscope after three defeats and he could be at risk if the Hammers fail to win at home to Huddersfield on Monday night.

Premier League clubs have voted to close next summer’s transfer window before the start of the 2018-19 season.

Clubs will still be able to sell players until the end of the normal window but all purchases will have to be completed by 5pm on the Thursday before the start of the season which will be August 9, 2018.

The vote was not unanimous and puts English top-flight clubs at a disadvantage compared with EFL and European teams who will be able to buy and sell until the end of August.

At least 14 of the clubs had to vote in favour of the rule change for it to take place.

EFL bosses are considering whether to follow the Premier League’s lead but will have further discussions before taking a decision.
