Neither Deportivo Lara nor Millonarios qualified for last year’s Copa Libertadores but both could still progress from Group G to the knockout phase of this year’s edition.

Colombians Millonarios thumped Deportivo Lara 4-0 in their first group meeting and should capitalise on the home side’s poor form to record a second victory.

Deportivo Lara, from Cabudare in Venezuela, are on a run of four consecutive defeats in all competitions and have not scored in any of their last three matches.

The hosts are bottom of the group with one win and two defeats, but with Corinthians pulling away at the top of the group, qualification for the last 16 is still possible for both sides, as is admission into the continent’s subsidiary competition, the Copa Sudamericana, through finishing third.

Millonarios forward Ayron del Valle bagged a hat-trick in the first game against Lara and has eight goals in all competitions in 2018. The hosts will rely on Jesus Hernandez, who has five goals in as many appearances.

The Rojinegro completely reshuffled their defence for the game with Millonarios, which followed a defeat to Aragua, and manager Leonardo Gonzalez seems unsure of his best team.

The extreme altitude in Bogota gave Millonarios a strong home advantage in the previous game, but they should have no issues against a disorganised Deportivo Lara side.

Recommendation
Millonarios
2pts 6-5 Betway
