Kilmarnock can put poor Aberdeen record to rest

Steve Clarke's side should prove stronger than Dons

Kick-offs 3pm Saturday

Kilmarnock started the week at around 7-2 to beat Aberdeen and although those odds have been cut, they are still good value to become the latest team to dump the Dons.

Recent head-to-heads suggest bookmakers may have got the original prices correct as Aberdeen haven't lost to Killie in their last 19 meetings.

But on form and confidence Steve Clarke's side should be ready to smash that dismal record against a fragile Aberdeen side there for the taking.

Last week's lamentable William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final capitulation to Motherwell at Hampden Park was the final straw for many Dons fans, who are sick of seeing their team collapse on the big occasion.

Even accounting for three key players being suspended, it was an abject surrender as yet another team bullied them.

Not that Killie should need to resort to physical tactics. They have lost just twice in the Ladbrokes Premiership since November - both to Aberdeen.

But Clarke's side are brimming with confidence and will be desperate to avenge that blot on their season with a win against Derek McInnes's underachievers, who have previously been poor after the the Ladbrokes Premiership has split in the closing weeks of the season.

Hibernian v Celtic preview

Montrose could end a 22-year stint in Scottish football's bottom division if they better the result of Ladbrokes League Two rivals Peterhead and they can seal their end of the bargain with a win at Stenhousemuir.

Stewart Petrie's side have shown little sign of folding under the pressure of finally getting out of the twilight zone of Scottish football, winning six of their last seven games including four in a row.

Their last two away games have seen them batter Stirling Albion 5-0 and Cowdenbeath 3-0 and a trip to Ochilview will hold no fears, especially as they are unbeaten on their last six trips to play Stenny.

With Lewis Milne and company in fine form, the Mighty Mo just might be on their way to the history books at a surprisingly generous price.

Inverness are going like a Highland steam train at the moment and they can continue their unlikely Ladbrokes Championship playoff push with a win against Dunfermline.

John Robertson's men have come from nowhere to win five in a row. If they win their remaining three games, they will be in the play-offs, just weeks after fearing relegation.

It's 11 years since the Pars won at the Caledonian Stadium and their pain could continue.
