World Cup hosts Russia lock horns with Turkey (5pm) in their final match before the tournament begins and they will be keen to round off preparations with a bang.

Stanislav Cherchesov's side have endured a dismal run of three successive defeats this year, most recently losing 1-0 to an Austria side who are not going to the finals.

Russia suffered defeats to Brazil and France in March and will come up against Saudi Arabia in the tournament's curtain-raiser.

They are the second-lowest ranked side in the tournament and failed to impress at last summer's Confederations Cup but they can at least net against a Turkey team who have kept just one clean sheet in their last five games.

The Turks held World Cup-bound Tunisia 2-2 last week. Everton striker Cenk Tosun made it three goals in his last two internationals but was sent off and is suspended for this match.

However, Roma starlet Cengiz Under and veteran Kayserispor striker Umut Bulut should be a threat to the Russians.

The rest of Tuesday's international action features teams who are not going to Russia this summer, with Kazakhstan facing Azerbaijan, Romania playing Finland and Luxembourg hosting Georgia.
