Match preview

Birmingham City, the lowest scorers outside the bottom four, returned from the international break with a horrible 2-0 loss at Hull, and they are worth taking on at rivals Coventry.

Lee Bowyer's Blues were awful at Hull as they failed to bounce back from defeat at home to Reading before the break.

Minus Gary Gardner – suspended after seeing red on Saturday – and without any kind of a goal threat, the Blues are backpedalling dangerously.

There are no such worries for Coventry, surprisingly decent at the start of term and proving they are the real deal and planning to stick around the promotion places for a while longer yet.

They welcome back wing-back Ian Maatsen from suspension, the defence picks itself after their magnificent clean sheet at Sheffield United at the weekend, and they continue to pose problems for opponents.

The Sky Blues haven't failed to score at home this season including popping four past leaders Fulham.
