From 11am Monday

United Arab Emirates v Kyrgyzstan

5pm

Neither tournament hosts United Arab Emirates nor Kyrgyzstan cruised into the Asian Cup knockout phase and betting on the match winner may not be the best route to take.

Both teams scored in two of UAE's group encounters, as they conceded to lowly-ranked Bahrain and Thailand, while Kyrgyzstan's three games featured eight goals.

The home nation are as short as 1-2 for victory but Kyrgyzstan made life difficult for favourites South Korea and could at least get on the scoresheet.

Recommendation
Both teams to score
1pt 5-4 general

Australia v Uzbekistan

2pm

Australia's progress to the last 16 was not as straightforward as expected and the Socceroos could suffer a shock at the hands of Uzbekistan.

Graham Arnold's men lost their tournament opener to Jordan and scraped past Syria to land a knockout stage berth but Uzbekistan could cause them problems.

Hector Cuper's side were comfortable winners against Oman and Turkmenistan and dominated possession in their defeat to Japan. They have the attacking impetus to get a least a draw from the clash.

Recommendation
Uzbekistan and draw double chance
1pt 5-4 bet365

Japan v Saudi Arabia

11am

Japan are unbeaten since their World Cup heroics last year and had a 100 per cent record in the Asian Cup group stage, beating Turkmenistan, Oman and Uzbekistan in a fairly soft section.

Saudi Arabia are expected to put up more of a fight but they tend to crumble against better attacking units.

They lost 2-0 to Qatar last time out, despite having 72 per cent possession, and that knock in confidence could hand the Samurai Blue an advantage.

Recommendation
Japan
1pt 3-4 Coral, Ladbrokes
