Playoff fixtures tend to be cagey at the best of times and it’s unlikely the single-leg showdown between Yeovil and Barnet at an empty Huish Park will be a thriller.

With no competitive fixtures having been played for four months, a lot has to be taken on trust and it would be unwise to expect either side to return in the same form they were in before the league was cut short.

Barnet jumped from 11th into seventh as a result of the table being decided on a points-per-game model, but they had lost only one of their last 18 matches in all competitions so will feel they warrant their place. The fourth-placed Glovers had snapped a six-game winless sequence with consecutive wins to nil over Wrexham and Dover.

The Bees edged out Yeovil 1-0 at home in the teams' only league meeting this season and backing another low-scoring affair makes plenty of appeal.

Only two of the Barnet’s last seven away contests featured three goals or more - and they kept three clean sheets - while Yeovil shut out the opposition in four of their final nine games at Huish Park.

A fully-fit Yeovil possess a stronger squad, particularly with 17-goal striker Rhys Murphy and former Crawley man Jimmy Smith in their ranks, but only four teams conceded fewer than Barnet’s 42 goals this season and they are a match for any fifth-tier side defensively.
