Two of the Women's Super League's biggest hitters meet for the first time in a domestic cup final on Saturday and Chelsea look a good bet to get the better of Manchester City at Plough Lane.

Emma Hayes's Blues are looking for their third successive triumph in the WSL Cup and they won't be short of confidence after they cruised past Leicester 7-0 in the FA Cup last week.

Midfielder Pernille Harder was inspirational and scored two goals while the front two of Australian Sam Kerr and Lioness Fran Kirby are a nightmare for any defence.

They were helped by the Foxes going down to ten players after just 17 minutes, but the victory was still as comprehensive as expected and they can build upon that against City.

Gareth Taylor's side also progressed to the last eight of the FA Cup, but a 4-1 win over Manchester United perhaps flattered them as they were deservedly behind at half-time and took advantage of some glaring United errors after the interval.

City are fifth in the league after a poor start to the campaign - they were hampered by injuries - but they have failed to win any of their last nine games against Chelsea, which is a surprising head-to-head fact when it relates to two of the English game's most successful sides.

Chelsea have done the double over City in the league this season - their latest victory came courtesy of a Guro Reiten goal last month - and Hayes looks to have the stronger resources going into this clash.
