Weekend preview

Manchester United have never beaten Chelsea in the Women's Super League but the Red Devils have made a perfect start to the new campaign and could send out a statement when the rivals clash at Leigh Sports Village.

United were only five points adrift of the top three in the WSL last season and look like a team with serious intent this term.

Marc Skinner's side have won all five of their opening matches, having averaged 2.8 goals per game, and they are yet to be breached with reliable Lioness Mary Earps between the sticks.

At the other end of the pitch, their attack has a new energy about it with summer signing Nikita Parris impressing and Leah Galton in a rich vein of form.

They could be even stronger in that department on Sunday with Alessia Russo likely to return to face Chelsea and there are whispers about a title push from the red half of Manchester.

Chelsea have stabilised after defeat to Liverpool in their WSL opener but they have already shipped five goals, having conceded only 11 times in the entirety of last season's WSL.

United look a good bet to avoid defeat.

Highflyers Arsenal are also in action against Leicester on Sunday (2pm) and are 1-12 to take maximum points.
