BBC from 4.30pm Saturday

Norway v Australia

BBC2, 8pm

Norway and Australia shared seven goals in an Algarve Cup clash last year, Australia winning 4-3, and there looks a decent chance that they will be involved in another goal-filled encounter in Nice.

The Matildas scored eight goals in their three Group C matches when a late blip against Italy was the only lowpoint.

They have attacked well and have been boosted by turning their tournament around when they beat Brazil after being two goals down. Talismanic striker Sam Kerr was superb in scoring all their goals in the 4-1 win over Jamaica.

Australia have reached the quarter-finals in the last three World Cups, but they will have to fight for it, based on the evidence Norway provided in finishing second in Group A.

Martin Sjogren's team needed two penalties to see their way past a poor South Korea side, but they showed enough in a 2-1 loss to hosts France - they were sunk by a questionable penalty - to suggest they can grow into the tournament.

They have won six of their last eight matches and a positive attitude could make for an entertaining game as the Matildas are unlikely to sit back.

Recommendation
Over 3.5 goals
1pt 7-4 Paddy Power

Key stat
Australia have scored at least twice in eight of their last ten games.
