The Women’s Champions League knockout stages begin with a clash between German and French giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Both sides were beaten semi-finalists in last year’s competition and one of the two will depart a stage earlier this time.

PSG breezed through their group, winning all six of their games without conceding and relegating Real Madrid to a distant second.

Bayern had a tougher time of it in the same group as PSG’s rivals Lyon, finishing second behind them after they shared the spoils in their two games, while Bayern also dropped points to Benfica.

This should be an ultra-competitive game, just as Bayern’s pair of ties with Lyon in the group stages were, but the away side are taken to edge it.

PSG’s 20-year-old Canadian forward Jordyn Huitema already has six goals in this year’s tournament and she may prove the difference between the two teams.

In the other quarter-final clash of the night, Real Madrid look up against it when they take on rivals Barcelona.

Barca have won the last five meetings by an aggregate score of 17-2 and the Catalan club are the tournament favourites. Real are as big as 30-1 to get a first-leg home win.
