Match preview

This season's Women's Super League is unfolding nicely but takes a back seat this weekend with Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal all involved in the Women's FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

Arsenal were rewarded for their 5-1 thrashing of rivals Tottenham in the last eight with a semi-final clash against Brighton but the more competitive betting heat is between City and Emma Hayes's Blues.

Chelsea are a shade of odds-on to win at the Manchester City Academy Stadium and that price looks worth taking.

Since their Super League defeat to Arsenal on the opening day, the Blues have been juggling league duties and cup matches well, having won six of their last seven matches in all competitions, drawing the other 3-3 with Wolfsburg.

Only Arsenal are ahead of Chelsea, who have scored 17 goals in five matches, in the Super League standings and they won their quarter-final contest 4-0 against Birmingham.

Manchester City were also comprehensive winners in the last round, demolishing Leicester 6-0, but their league form leaves plenty to be desired.

The Manchester outfit have won only one of their opening five games, losing to Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham, suggesting they do not have what it takes to mix it with the best this season.
