Chelsea will be looking to gain their first win of this season's Women's Champions League against Paris FC on Wednesday after Sonia Bompastor's side drew their opening encounter with Dutch side FC Twente.

The Blues were beaten by Barcelona in last season's semi-finals, but will take confidence from the fact they beat their midweek opponents 4-1 and 4-0 when they met in the group stage two years ago.

Chelsea Women vs Paris FC Women preview

Chelsea have won the last six Women's Super League titles, but European glory has eluded the Londoners and Sonia Bompastor's team will be desperate to put that right this season.

They remain unbeaten this term and will strongly fancy their chances of beating Paris FC in their second Women's Champions League game despite being held to a 1-1 draw at FC Twente in their opening group encounter.

Paris don't have a great European pedigree, having lost 4-0 and 4-1 to Chelsea in the group stage two years ago and they were knocked out of the qualifying stage last year 8-0 on aggregate by Manchester City.

Chelsea's draw in the Netherlands last week does not look particularly impressive, but the scoreline doesn't paint a true picture as the Blues won the expected-goals (xG) count 3.02-0.51, which demonstrates their dominance even though they needed a Sandy Baltimore penalty to avoid defeat.

And it was a similar story in their 1-0 league win over Tottenham on Sunday, when their superiority was demonstrated by the fact they earned 16 corners.

So there could be more goals on the cards and that points to a bet on Agnes Beever-Jones to score at any time.

The England striker will be conscious that Australian star Sam Kerr is working her way back to fitness after a serious knee injury, and Beever-Jones has netted in four of her six WSL appearances this term.

She has not scored in her last three outings, but has had ten efforts on goal in those matches, so it may not be long before she is back in the scoring groove.

Over 3.5 goals

Chelsea have dominated recent games against Twente and Tottenham without scoring more than once, but that could change against a team they put four past twice in the Champions League two years ago

Over seven Chelsea corners

The Blues had 16 corners against Tottenham at the weekend and can earn at least half that number against their French opponents at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea to win both halves

The second half has produced the highest number of goals in just four of Chelsea's last 16 Champions League games, so expect them to make a fast start on Wednesday
