Two teams battling for promotion face off in the first EFL Trophy semi-final when Wigan host Sutton United.

The home side beat Oldham 6-0 in their first knockout tie before squeezing past Arsenal Under-21s 1-0 in the quarters.

Sutton have reached the last four with narrow wins over Colchester and Harrogate to add to their impressive first season in League Two.

However, highflying Wigan are a cut above their previous opponents and the away team have won just two of their previous seven games.

The Tics and Rotherham have dominated the third tier this season and are both warm orders to win their semi-finals in this competition.
