Tranmere primed to maintain title push

National League
7.45pm Tuesday
Tranmere are coming on strong in the closing stages of the National League title race and look rock-solid favourites to defeat 14th-placed Sutton United at Prenton Park.
It appears to have boiled down to a head-to-head between Tranmere and leaders Lincoln for the sole automatic promotion berth.
Lincoln had the chance to go three points clear when hosting Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday but, irrespective of the outcome, Tranmere will be under no illusions that the Sutton match is one they need to win.
Rovers have upped the ante with four successive victories and had to show their defensive qualities when digging out a 1-0 victory at Wrexham on Saturday.
The match with Sutton should be more comfortable.
Tranmere have won six of their last eight home fixtures and should be far too strong for the Surrey side, who are only six points clear of the drop zone.
Sutton are likely to stay up but only because of results on their artificial surface at Gander Green Lane where they have won 11 of 20 league matches.
They have won twice in 20 road fixtures and have the worst away record in the division.
Recommendation
Tranmere
2pts 8-13 Coral, Hills
