Tottenham and Manchester United reach FA Cup semi-finals

It is 27 years since Tottenham last featured in an FA Cup final but Mauricio Pochettino's team made light work of booking their semi-final spot as they cruised past Swansea on Saturday and Manchester United followed Spurs into the last four.

Despite the absence of injured star striker Harry Kane, two goals from Christian Eriksen and another from Erik Lamela were enough to take Spurs through to the last four and they are 7-4 with bet365 to lift the trophy.

Tottenham have lost their last seven FA Cup semis since beating Nottingham Forest in 1991, but having played their home matches at Wembley this season they are at least guaranteed to be in familiar surroundings in the next round.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic saw United to a 2-0 win over Brighton. Jose Mourinho's men are also 7-4 with bet365 for FA Cup glory. Chelsea are 4-1 and Leicester are 12-1. It's 16-1 Southampton and Wigan are available at 66-1.

While Spurs and United were in cup action, Liverpool picked up Premier League points as they moved above Spurs into third place with a comfortable 5-0 win over Watford.

Reds star Mo Salah took advantage of Kane's ankle injury to move ahead of the Spurs hitman in the top goalscorer charts with a four-goal haul and the Egyptian will be looking to make further progress with the England striker not expected to be back in training until next month.

At the other end of the table, Crystal Palace earned themselves some breathing space with a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield that put them two points above the drop zone, pushing Southampton, who are in cup action against Wigan on Sunday, into the bottom three.

Second-from-bottom Stoke were unable to make similar progress as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Everton and the Potters are 4-11 to be playing in the Sky Bet Championship next season.

West Brom look doomed, seven points adrift at the bottom after losing 2-1 at Bournemouth. Albion went ahead but fell to defeat courtesy of a late goal from Junior Stanislas.

Championship leaders Wolves claimed a 3-1 win over struggling Burton.
