Queens Park Rangers have sacked Steve McClaren after just 11 months in charge following a run of one win from 15 Sky Bet Championship games.

McClaren's departure was announced by the club on Monday morning and he leaves Loftus Road with the Hoops in 17th place in the Championship table - eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Sky Bet make Tim Sherwood the 4-6 favourite to replace the former England manager in west London. McClaren's assistant manager John Eustace is set to take charge until a permanent successor is appointed.

Former Tottenham boss Sherwood was last seen as a manager in a brief spell at Aston Villa in 2015 while his most recent appointment came as director of football at Swindon, during which the Robins were relegated to League Two.

Sky Bet initially made Sherwood an 11-10 shot but he was soon backed into odds-on prices. Mark Warburton is a 3-1 chance while former QPR midfielder Gareth Ainsworth and ex-Stoke boss Gary Rowett are available at 8-1.

Rangers, who are 100-1 to be relegated, face a trip to league leaders Norwich on Saturday before ending their season with fixtures against Millwall, Swansea, Blackburn, Derby, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.
