Tim Flowers' Solihull Moors look a blooming good bet
Halifax and leaders Leyton Orient are worth wagers too
National League
3pm Saturday
There are some unfashionable clubs in the National League promotion mix including fifth-placed Solihull Moors, who can maintain their challenge with a victory at lowly Havant & Waterlooville this weekend.
After eight wins in 13 games Moors' promotion odds have shortened from 50-1 to 11-1 but the markets may not have caught up with Tim Flowers' team, who are the fourth-highest scorers in the division.
Moors have won their last three matches by an aggregate score of 9-0 and there is scope for them to make further progress over the next few weeks because all of their next seven games are against teams outside the top eight.
Bookmakers are struggling to pick a favourite for the contest at fourth-bottom Havant but there is a 14-point gap between the sides and the away side look great value.
An away win could also be on the cards at the Hayes Lane where Bromley host Halifax.
Bromley ended a four-match losing sequence by winning 2-1 against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday but it came at a cost with key midfielder Frankie Raymond picking up his fifth booking of the season.
Raymond and winger Adam Mekki are banned for Bromley and their absences should encourage Halifax, who are bidding to end a run of six games without a win.
Halifax put in an encouraging performance to draw 0-0 at home to promotion rivals Fylde on Tuesday and look value to follow up with a victory over Bromley, who are six points beneath them.
Leaders Leyton Orient cemented their position at the top by winning 5-1 to Braintree in midweek and their strong start could be maintained at home to Sutton.
A playoff challenge looks feasible for Sutton but they drew 2-2 at home to struggling Dover in midweek and may not be playing well enough going into one of their toughest games of the season.
