Crystal Palace should never have been sucked into a relegation battle last season but they are likely to have learned from the experience and can do better in 2017-18. The Eagles should ensure they finish well clear of the drop zone and above all the promoted teams.

The Eagles have to get used to a different style of football and a back three under new manager Frank de Boer but they look much better equipped than Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle, who each face a tough challenge in trying to consolidate at the higher level.

Palace are short-priced favourites to finish above Brighton and Huddersfield but are only just favoured to perform better than Newcastle, who have been slow in making the necessary improvements to their squad.
