All the key stats and info for Sunday's clash at Old Trafford
Premier League: Manchester United v Liverpool
Where to watch
BT Sport 2, 4.30pm Sunday
Match odds
7-4 Manchester United, 8-5 Liverpool, 13-5 draw
Form
Manchester United's 0-0 draw at Leeds on Sunday ended their five-game winning streak in the Premier League and left them ten points behind Manchester City with just five matches remaining.
Thursday's Europa League semi-final first leg is the most important fixture of United's week but Liverpool are desperate for points in the battle for the top four, having conceded late equalisers in their last two games against Newcastle and Leeds.
The Reds have won five of their last seven away matches in the league including an impressive 3-0 victory at Arsenal on April 3 but they are still four points off the top four.
Team news
Manchester United
Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are injured and United will hope to come through Thursday's Europa League game against Roma unscathed.
Liverpool
Jordan Henderson (groin) is still out and Nat Phillips is a doubt after missing last weekend's draw with Newcastle. Fellow defenders Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are long-term absentees.
The tactical battle
Liverpool dominated possession in January's 0-0 draw at Anfield but United had the better chances against a makeshift centre-back pairing of Henderson and Fabinho.
The FA Cup clash a week later was far more entertaining as the pace of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood troubled Liverpool before a late free-kick strike from substitute Bruno Fernandes sealed a 3-2 win for United.
Jurgen Klopp sent out Liverpool in a 4-4-2 formation against Newcastle last weekend, squeezing Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane into the starting 11, but he may revert to a 4-3-3 at Old Trafford.
Verdict
This fixture has often failed to live up to the hype in recent seasons but Liverpool cannot afford to settle for a draw at Old Trafford as they try to chase down fourth-placed Chelsea.
The Europa League is the priority for United, whose four league defeats this season have all come at Old Trafford, and they could be vulnerable against a Reds side who have won well at Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal since the turn of the year.
