Premier League

West Ham v Leicester, 3pm Saturday

Two Premier League sides served up a first-half humdinger in the Champions League on Wednesday and there could be more early goals when West Ham and Leicester square up on Saturday.

Tottenham's victory over Manchester City featured five goals in the opening 21 minutes and, although that will take some beating, spectators at the London Stadium should expect a fast start.

Brendan Rodgers has been getting the most out of his attacking outlets but still needs to iron out some defensive frailties, with both teams scoring in 21 of City's 34 league fixtures this term.

West Ham are a similarly top-heavy unit. In recent home displays they have been breached by Fulham, twice by Everton and shipped three to a Huddersfield outfit who have scored only 19 Premier League goals in 2018-19.

They compensate for their weaknesses at the back with a plethora of front-line firepower including Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic and have scored nine goals in their last four assignments on home soil.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in this game could be a good move but with total match goals offered at 2.75-2.95 by Sporting Index punters may see backing a lively opening period as better value.

The Hammers' last six matches have seen ten goals scored in the first 45 minutes, three of which came in a blistering start to their 4-3 win over Huddersfield.

The best punting strategy could be a buy of first-half goals at 1.3 on Sporting Index.

Recommendation
Buy first-half goals
at 1.3 Sporting Index
