Bristol City ready for visit of Wolves

Who are Europe’s most in-form team right now? Well, with a few caveats and some stretching of the imagination, it’s none other than Bristol City.

A ten-match formguide of all divisions in the top five European leagues has the Robins leaving the might of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and the rest firmly in their wake.

Lee Johnson’s men prepare to take on Wolves at Ashton Gate in the FA Cup fifth round having won nine matches in a row. They haven’t lost any of their last 15 fixtures.

They still have some way to go to eclipse their club record for successive wins – that stands at 14 from way back in 1905 – and the layers are fairly confident that their winning streak will end this weekend.

City are 18-5 shots to beat Nuno’s side, who are flying high in the Premier League.

It's tight for the places in Serie A

Five into two won’t go in the fascinating race for Champions League places in Italy.

With Juventus and Napoli booked for the top two spots, Inter, Milan, Atalanta, Roma and Lazio won last weekend and just five points separate those five clubs with 15 games to go.

Of the five, Atalanta are the 4-1 outsiders for a top-four finish yet Gianpiero Gasperini’s men are in irresistible form.

Serie A’s top scorers with 50 goals, they are on a six-match unbeaten run in the league, chinned Juventus 3-0 in the Coppa Italia a fortnight ago and haven’t failed to find the net in any game since October 7.

Now they host Milan at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D’Italia in what is by some distance the game of the weekend in Serie A.

Little to choose between Yorkshire rivals Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday

It's no surprise to see the draw trading short in the crunch South Yorkshire derby between Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday.

The Millers hit back in gutsy fashion at Hull on Tuesday, coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, their fifth such scoreline of the season and the 13th stalemate in their last 23 Championship games.

Ordinarily, that result would be cause for celebration yet, as Reading beat Blackburn, United dropped back into the bottom three where, given relegation odds of 4-7, they are expected to stay.

They need to start turning draws into wins which means breaching a Wednesday side who have yet to concede a goal in three games under Steve Bruce and have who have recorded back-to-back 0-0 draws.

It’s not a long trip for the Owls and it is usually a successful one – they have won ten and lost just one of their last 13 matches at their bitter rivals.
