Portsmouth left it late - very late - to claim the Sky Bet League Two title last season and Pompey’s final-day flourish was a reminder of the joys and frustrations of ante-post betting.

Paul Cook’s side had been 9-2 favourites for the division at the start of the season but were 13 points behind leaders Doncaster with just eight games of the season remaining.

But Pompey kept on winning as Donny and Plymouth eased off after securing automatic promotion and the south-coast club - 7-2 outsiders of three at the start of the final day - thrashed Cheltenham 6-1 to finish top of the table.
