Rangers may have to settle for a narrow win in Paisley against a St Mirren side who have so far confounded their critics.

Steven Gerrard could rotate his team, but his bloated squad has more than enough options to get the three points. Rangers face a vital Europa League playoff against Legia Warsaw before the first Old Firm showdown of the season next weekend and he could shuffle the pack.

Jim Goodwin's Saints can certainly give them a test anyway. They look strong defensively and well organised, which is impressive given their managerial shenanigans in the summer. The Ibrox side may just edge it and no more.

Recommendation
Rangers & under 3.5 goals
2pts 21-20 Betway, BoyleSports

Key stat
None of St Mirren's last five matches have featured more than one goal.

Team news

St Mirren
Striker Junior Morias could go straight into the squad after signing from Northampton this week. Cody Cooke is injured.

Rangers
Greg Stewart has recovered from injury and should be fit.
