Shamrock Rovers should beat a poor Sligo Rovers outfit at the Showgrounds on Saturday even if their star player Graham Burke is unavailable.

Burke's promotion to the Ireland squad renders his participation in doubt as Ireland play Celtic on Sunday, but Brandon Miele can slot in for him if needed.

One goal could easily be enough given Sligo's struggles in front of goal.

Former and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Rhys McCabe insisted after the defeat to St Patrick's that it was up to the players to improve Sligo's position but they are creating little. While the visitors' away record is dire this season, they are a far better side than Sligo.

Bohemians could be value at big prices at home to Dundalk, who were 4-1 winners over an open Derry on Monday.

Bohs are hitting form and are capable of causing a mild surprise against a side weakened by the injury suffered by Stephen O'Donnell.

The Gypsies were excellent against Cork when they last clashed, while Rovers lost both of their games to their Dublin rivals, whose struggles in front of goal seem to have been sorted.

They have perhaps the most talented midfielder in the league on current form in Dylan Watts.

Bookmakers may have slightly overreacted to the fine form of St Patrick's Athletic and Derry will fancy their chance in Inchicore, despite getting humbled at home to Dundalk.

Derry can at least get a draw and backing them getting a start on the Asian handicap makes sense.

Derry are far from the finished article, but Pat's can be expected to finish behind them and they look short in the market. It should be a close game between two decent sides.
