One of Major League Soccer's foregone conclusions this term seems to be that Los Angeles FC will win the Western Conference.

That leaves an abundance of teams fighting it out for second spot but Seattle Sounders could risk missing out on a final series berth altogether if they do not buck their current downturn in form.

Since a 3-1 friendly defeat to Borussia Dortmund they have lost successive home fixtures to Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City and their creaking defence will be put to the test by an in-form New England outfit.

The Revolution have hauled themselves from languishing in the depths of the Eastern Conference to being in contention for the playoff places, with five wins in their last seven MLS matches.

The only defeat in that streak came last time out against an LAFC side who are head and shoulders above the rest of the division and the Revs could be worth a look to earn a positive result in Seattle.

They made just one addition in the transfer window but it was an effective one, drafting in Gustavo Bou from Tijuana.

The veteran striker, who scored 45 goals in 100 appearances during his first spell with Racing Club, enhances an improving attack in which former Aston Villa player Carles Gil and Diego Fagundez are impressing.

Their defensive structure is still cause for concern, which makes backing goals another viable betting strategy, but punters should look at taking the Revolution to avoid defeat.
