National League preview

Stockport are knocking on the door of the playoff places after four wins from their last six games, and they can continue to climb the table when they visit Aldershot.

Defensive issues had been a leading cause behind County’s struggles and they have conceded the second-most goals outside the bottom three. But their positivity up front has helped combat that and they have notched nine times in their last two matches.

There is reason to think that can continue at Aldershot, who have won only two of their last nine matches and conceded two or more in four of their last five games.

The Shots have performed well at home recently, but Stockport look value to edge them out.

Another away side who could come out on top are Notts County, who take on Halifax.

Neither side are in particularly great form and they have not registered a league win since October 29, but the visitors have shown signs of getting their season back on track following a couple of draws and a big FA Trophy win at Chesterfield last week.

Halifax, meanwhile have dropped off significantly since their hot start to the season, with a lack of goals contributing to their downfall. They have scored just six in their last nine games, and may find it difficult to break through the County defence as they have conceded the third-fewest goals this season.

Goals are almost guaranteed when Ebbsfleet play, with both teams scoring in nine of their last ten games. Another lively match could be on the cards when they host Woking, who have scored two or more in three of their last four league matches.
