National League preview

National League North table-toppers King's Lynn can cause an upset at Ebbsfleet in the second round of the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The Linnets claimed a National League scalp in the first round when they beat Dover on penalties, and have been in great league form with nine wins in their last ten games.

They have been ruthless in attack, with striker Adam Marriott scoring 11 in their last nine games, which doesn’t bode well for an Ebbsfleet side who have conceded by far the most goals in the National League and were thumped 7-0 by Barrow last week.

Classy King's Lynn have scored two or more in nine of their last 11 away matches, and should be more than a match for their hosts.

Royston and Chester have been flying in their respective divisions and goals could be on the cards when they meet at Garden Walk.

The hosts have won their last six games in all competitions and scored 14 in their last four home matches. Although Chester play one step above Southern League Royston in the National League North, the lower-division side should be able to make it a competitive game.

Hemel Hempstead take on Havant in the National League South and the visitors look a good price to return to winning ways.

Havant lost 2-1 to Maidstone last week but had previously won seven out of nine and have the best away form in the league, picking up 24 points from ten matches.

Hemel have won only one of their last ten and that run looks set to continue.
