Saturday football tips: City and Spurs aiming to start 2022 with a bang

The new year starts in fine fashion for football fans with plenty of Premier League and EFL action to enjoy. Manchester City ended 2021 with a commanding lead at the top of the table and could stretch their advantage to 11 points with victory at Arsenal in the lunchtime kick-off.

Spurs will hope to keep up their good run under Antonio Conte when they visit Watford, while the first Saturday of 2022 is wrapped up by Crystal Palace playing host to West Ham.
