Ruthless Poland can get the better of Denmark

Poland are almost assured of their place at Russia 2018 and they can another step towards next summer’s finals with a victory over Denmark.

The Poles are six points clear of second-placed Montenegro in Group E with the Danes third on goal difference and Poland will relish the opportunity to open up a nine-point gap on Denmark with four games left to play.

The Danes were expected to be Poland’s main group rivals but they find themselves scrapping it out with Montenegro to finish as runners-up with a place in the playoffs as their reward.

The Poles have been almost flawless in qualification, winning five matches including a 3-2 success over Denmark and drawing the other of their six matches, and they have scored at least twice in each game.

Prolific striker Robert Lewandowski leads a side who possess a ruthless streak and that could be apparent this evening as the Poles look to take a giant step closer to Russia.

Montenegro can take advantage of any Denmark slip-up when they take on Kazakhstan live on Sky.
