Team news

Real Madrid
Summer signings Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni could both feature at some stage for Los Blancos, who have a fully-fit squad.

Eintracht Frankfurt
Aurelio Buta and Jerome Onguene are both absent for the German side and Filip Kostic is unlikely to feature as he closes in on a switch to Juventus.

Match preview

Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas scored seven goals between them the last time Real Madrid played Eintracht Frankfurt competitively and it should be another comfortable night for Los Blancos when these sides meet in the Uefa Super Cup in Helsinki.

Real Madrid ran out 7-3 winners against Frankfurt in that iconic European Cup final in 1960 and they were crowned European champions for a record 14th time last season, beating Liverpool in the final of the Champions League.

Earlier in the tournament they dumped out Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City and they should be far too strong for Europa League winners Frankfurt in this battle of continental champions.

Frankfurt's triumph came as a surprise last term as they placed an underwhelming 11th in the Bundesliga and they could be out of their depth in Finland.

They were battered 6-1 by Bayern Munich in their Bundesliga opener last Friday and five of the goals they conceded came in the first half.

And while Real boss Carlo Ancelotti insists his side are treating this match with the respect it deserves, he would be happy to see the win wrapped up early with the new La Liga season starting this weekend.

With that in mind, the best betting angle could be to back Real Madrid to be leading at half-time before going on to win the game and a record-equalling fifth Uefa Super Cup.

Key stat

No La Liga club led at half-time in more matches than Real Madrid (16) last season.
