Progressive Forfar can open their account at Stirling
East Kilbride may add to shock Queens success
Forfar Athletic should have enough to see off Stirling Albion at Station Park in the Betfred Cup.
The Angus side gained a creditable draw at Ladbrokes Championship side Brechin City in midweek before losing on penalties. And they have a great chance to grab their first win of the competition when Stirling visit.
Forfar won three out of four meetings between the teams - and drew the other one - in Ladbrokes League Two last season and they can also boast a 13-game unbeaten run against the Binos.
Boss Gary Bollan has recruited well over the summer bringing Dylan Easton and Mark Millar into the squad.
Stirling were thumped by Falkirk on their opening day of the season and already have next to no chance of qualifying from Group A.
East Kilbride stunned Ladbrokes Championship side Queen of the South in midweek by winning in a penalty shootout after a gutsy draw, and they will fancy their chance of defeating Albion Rovers at K Park.
Lowland League champions Kilby are a well-established outfit who narrowly missed out on a place in the Scottish League last season by losing the pyramid playoff final to Cowdenbeath.
Their manager Billy Stark, who was assistant boss at Albion Rovers until an acrimonious departure at the end of last season, will know the strengths and weaknesses of the Coatbridge side well and should relish the chance to put one over his former club.
Rovers limped to a draw against bottom-tier side Stenhousemuir in their last match and new Cliftonhill boss Brian Kerr will need time for his side to gel.
Kilby narrowly lost to Ladbrokes Premiership side Hamilton Accies in their first game in the section and could bloody the nose of another league side.
Elsewhere, Livingston and Arbroath should win, but are just too short to be backed with any real confidence at this stage of the season.
