Team news
Wolves
New striker Sasa Kalajdzic is available but fellow newbie Boubacar Kamara won't join up with his teammates until next week.
Southampton
Romeo Lavia has been ruled out for six weeks and joins Valentino Livramento on the sidelines. Deadline-day arrivals Juan Larios and Samuel Edozie are available but there is a doubt over Duje Caleta-Car, who also arrived on Thursday.
Match preview
Bruno Lage has promised Wolves supporters that the "goals will come" but that might not come to fruition when Southampton visit Molineux.
Winless Wolves have drawn three of their five league matches this season and conceded only four goals, but with just two goals scored it feels like the same old story for Lage.
Wolves's league games averaged only 2.13 goals per game last season and 28 of their 43 games with Lage in charge have gone under 2.5 goals which could point towards another low-scoring 90 minutes.
The signing of giant striker Sasa Kalajdzic might make a difference, but Wolves were wasteful in Wednesday's 0-0 draw at Bournemouth and the 6ft 7in Austrian has struggled to repeat his 16-goal haul for Stuttgart in 2020-21 because of injury problems.
Lage's side control midfield well and are organised defensively but it's in the final third where they are lacking and Saints will be no pushovers following an impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea on Tuesday.
Consistency, however, isn't Southampton's strong suit and they can't be trusted to repeat those heroics.
Key stat
Three goals have been scored in Wolves's last four Premier League games.
